BRUCE WIN

SUPPORT WORKER

ABOUT ME:

Hello, my name is Bruce. I am 42 years old and a devoted father to two teenage daughters. I have gained invaluable insights into the unique needs and strengths of individuals with neurodiverse conditions through shared experiences. Over the past five years, I have taken on the role of a junior basketball coach, working with players ranging from under 12s to under 16s. My coaching philosophy extends beyond the sport itself; I am passionate about fostering stronger mindsets, building confidence, and instilling the importance of teamwork in young athletes. Witnessing their personal growth, not just in their athletic abilities but as individuals, is the most fulfilling aspect of my role. In my leisure time, I enjoy outdoor activities such as camping in the forest and relaxing at the beach. I also have a keen interest in travel, whether it involves exploring the diverse landscapes of Australia or immersing myself in new cultures abroad. Additionally, I have a strong affinity for hands-on work, particularly in welding and crafting projects from metal and wood, which allows me to express my creativity and skills.

My experience spans a diverse range of positions, from supporting a bustling household with three children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder Level 2 to aiding a couple coping with the complexities of PTSD and Bipolar Disorder. This variety has allowed me to develop a comprehensive understanding of the different dynamics at play within each family, as well as the specific needs that arise from their individual circumstances. My role has encompassed a broad spectrum of support services, including helping children prepare for school, organizing meaningful daily activities, and providing assistance with household chores and yard maintenance.
